About the Journal

The SPED Journal of Vocational and Technical Education (SPEJOVTED) is a biennial peer-reviewed scholarly journal committed to advancing research, innovation, and practice in vocational and technical education as a driver of economic empowerment and self-reliance.

SPEJOVTED provides a platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to disseminate empirical studies, theoretical papers, and case studies that bridge theory and practice. The journal publishes original work in Agricultural Education, Business Education, Home Economics, Fine and Applied Arts, Technical Education, Entrepreneurship, and other areas that promote technical competency, self-reliance, and sustainable livelihoods.

Our mission is to spotlight research that solves real problems from youth unemployment and curriculum relevance to digital skills, agribusiness training, and enterprise development. SPEJOVTED is where scholarship meets the workshop, the studio, and the enterprise, fostering multidisciplinary discourse for national and global socio-economic growth.

Target audience: Educators, researchers, curriculum developers, industry trainers, graduate students, and education policymakers passionate about skills-based education and innovation.

Guidelines for Contribution

Assessment Process and Editorial Declaration

 

Articles submitted are sent for assessment by the Editor-in-Chief to anonymous assessors. At the end of assessment, the Editor-in-Chief will communicate the editorial decision to the authors along with a summary of information critical to the articles and, if appropriate, for the revision of the articles or re-submission for second assessment.

 

Articles

All articles shall be submitted to electronically to spejovted2026@gmail.com or via Whatsapp (08038566010) and must conform to the following Format.

  1. Length: Articles should not be more than 18 pages, Table and References inclusive.
  2. Layout: Articles should be typed with times new romans size 12 fonts and double line spaced. The first page should have a complete Title but no list of author(s), the next page should carry the complete Title of the Article and the Names(s) of the author(s), address, and contact details; e-mail inclusive.
  3. Quotations/Excerpts: Authors are reminded that where permission of reproduction of copyright materials is required, the manuscripts must accompany such permission. Authors are solely responsible for the factual accuracy of their contributions.
  4. Tables should be numbered serially in Arabic numeral throughout the paper and each should carry a descriptive title.
  5. Illustrations/Pictures should be scanned to enable them form a suitable part of the article for publication.
  6. Abstract This should be brief as much as possible (normally, not more than 150 words) and should summarize the paper. It should have 4-5key words.
  7. References: Citation and Referencing should be in accordance with latest edition of the publication manual of the American Psychology Association (APA).
  8. Paper Originality Only original papers which have not been submitted for publication in other journals are acceptable and such should be able to pass a plagiarism test with a maximum of 25% similarity index.  
  9. Letters/Notes/News Letters and Notes should be sent directly to Editor-in-Chief.
  10. Article Processing Fee All papers submitted must be accompanied with an article processing fee of #5,000, payable into the account details below:
